Being based in the Tees Valley it is inevitable that some of the focus of our resources are the River itself. Many local employers rely either directly on the River industry or are part of its supply chain. The resources linked here were largely funded by the largest private employer in the Tees Valley – PD Ports as part of their ongoing commitment to help people in their local community. Their track record of employing and developing local people is second to none.
Two resources not to miss…
Where in the World
How do you actually learn about the geography of where you live and the wider world? Read it in a book? Of course not, you learn through experience of different places either on maps or physically visiting, and repeatedly! This resource is designed to take advantage of the world in the children’s hands, digital online maps (I use Apple maps but any will work). By repeatedly asking children to use the technology to find places around the globe, they will start to recognise patterns. places that are close to each other….all the things that the National Curriculum wants us to do.
And the best bit? They are also developing digital skills at the same time.
