Excitement, ambition and boundless potential filled the air today at Oak Tree Primary School, part of the Northern Education Trust, as we hosted a series of ‘Equality and Aspiration’ sessions that left us truly inspired by the incredible Year 5 pupils!

With a focus on the Power of Women (PoW) Campaign and the Primary School Ambassador Program, these sessions were designed to ignite ambition, champion equal opportunities, and challenge gender stereotypes. Led by the team at Spark Tees Valley, every pupil had the chance to dive into powerful discussions on equality and inclusivity, exploring what it means to dream big and break barriers.

The energy soared as pupils shared their aspirations for the future, engaging in thought-provoking conversations about diverse career paths and how the choices they make today can shape their tomorrow. One of the most exciting moments of the day? The ambassador selection process! We were thrilled to have Sophie from PoW join our interview panel, and the pupils rose to the challenge—stepping into the interview room with confidence, passion, and bold ideas. With so many outstanding applications from the morning session, selecting our ambassadors was no easy task!

But today wasn’t just about planning careers—it was about building confidence, breaking down barriers, and inspiring every child to see a future without limits. Watching our Year 5 pupils embrace these opportunities with enthusiasm and determination was a powerful reminder of the importance of the PoW Primary Ambassador Programme.

The journey at Oak Tree Primary is just getting started, and we can’t wait to see these young changemakers take their first steps in shaping a brighter, more inclusive world! In fact, their first trip is next week at AV Dawson for the PoW Development Day where they will join over a hundred other ambassadors from over twenty different schools!
