It was fantastic to welcome Year 5 from South Bank Primary and Year 6 from Corpus Christi Primary to our latest World of Work Days funded by TVCA at AV Dawson.
Our World of Work Days focus on coding and discovering local companies. The children really enjoyed using Dash, which most children (and staff) want for their birthdays, to contextualise the different businesses they found out about.
I think they would have coded Dash all day if we had let them but linking that activity to the company on our interactive map and preparing a presentation ensured that the learning opportunities were maximised.
It was fabulous to hear the sparks of conversation flying around about what the children had in mind for their futures and some included the opportunities they had learnt about today! Some children even spoke with Gary Dawson about their current entrepreneurial skills running their own business at school to which Gary was extremely impressed!
It has been a pleasure Corpus Christi and Southbank we all look forward to working with you again in the future!
