What an inspiring group of children at Aycliffe Primary School who have a firm grip on their future aspirations! Last week, we selected a group of Power of Women (PoW) Ambassadors for the Primary School Ambassador Programme with the help of Martin Walker from Tees Business and 3M’s Donna Gowland.
Picture this: Year 5 pupils, brimming with enthusiasm and aspirations, delving into discussions about their future paths. A journey that led them to the Spark interactive business map of the Tees Valley, an ingenious tool (link: https://www.sparkteesvalley.com/interactive-business-map/) unlocking the doors to diverse career opportunities in the local area. The session unfolded as a tapestry of exploration, unraveling the essential enterprise skills and attitudes that serve as the foundation for countless future opportunities. Life choices took center stage, interwoven with the skills and attitudes essential for keeping your options wide open throughout the journey of life. But it wasn’t just about keeping doors ajar; it was about championing equal opportunities for all mastering the art of challenging gender biases and stereotypes.
We were fortunate to have Martin from Tees Business and Donna from 3M join us for the interview process providing the pupils with a genuine taste of what a professional interview experience entails. The Year 5 pupils, brimming with enthusiasm, took turns entering the interview room one by one. The decision-making process was exceptionally challenging due to the outstanding quality of the students’ application forms and their confident performances during the interviews.
What an incredible experience it has been, engaging in two impactful sessions at Aycliffe Village Primary, where we explored the concept of equality within the classroom, looked in depth at future aspirations and conducted interviews for the PoW Primary Ambassador Program, nurturing these young leaders of the future.
