Our little, blue robotic friends wheeled themselves excitedly into Zetland Primary School, in Redcar, today to work with their utterly unbelievably Year 5 and Year 6 pupils!
Even with all the excitement of our little, blue robotic friend’s wheels spinning into the hall flashing their lights and imitating dinosaurs, the behaviour of the pupils from Zetland Primary School was second to none! These super-focussed and highly engaged children demonstrated a range of successful learning behaviours to ensure we could maximise learning potential on our Robot Coding Day.
During the sessions, we thought about why coding is essential in our world today and learned two new coding languages! We built on their prior knowledge of block coding to communicate with our robots to complete a series of challenges that became progressively more challenging.
These pupils are not ones to shy away from a challenge and our Year 6s even progressed to using the gripper accessory, which attaches to the front of our robots, in order to take a ‘Tour of the Tees Valley’ moving their cargo to different locations in our area.
Engagement and excitement levels were off the scale and the children couldn’t wait to tell their families at home time who had visited them in school today.
What an unbelievable day with some coders of the future!
