“My highlight was the Hydrogen Grand Prix!” one of the Year 6s from Lakes Primary told us during our penultimate Redcar & Cleveland College funded Energy Academy Workshop today. Another Year 6, Zara, enjoyed learning about all the opportunities in our local area, and Sienna loved using the solar panels and the science equipment. What fabulous feedback from the children at Lakes Primary school in Redcar today.
They had had a jam-packed and fun-filled morning taking part in our interactive science workshop. They began with learning about our area and the future careers in the energy sector which is right on their doorstep! They became energy engineers and set up their hydrogen-powered cars ready for the ‘Hydrogen Grand Prix.’ As well as stepping into the boots of a wind farm engineer, planning and building their own working model of a wind farm considering the pros and cons for each route.
What a great morning with some really fantastic children!
