We had an adrenaline-fuelled morning with the enthusiastic Year 4 children and staff from Grangetown Primary school for the next stage of our ‘Energy Academy Workshops’ funded by Redcar and Cleveland College.
Over the whole morning session, the children learned about the exciting opportunities in our area with renewable energy and even built their own wind farm; choosing the location and routes for the cables on a map before constructing a working model.
They also learned some mechanics behind the technology fueling today’s automotive revolution while setting up their own hydrogen-powered car! With their tanks full they positioned their Hydrogen fuelled vehicles on the grid for the start of the Hydrogen Grand Prix! After the final countdown, they flipped the switch and the motor came to life!
A buzz of excitement filled the playground as the cars began to move around! A fun-filled, exciting session with everyone involved!
