Another brilliant day today at AV Dawson where we welcomed the fantastic Y5 children from Acklam Whin to the latest World of Work Day funded by TVCA. Being able to see most of the Tees Valley laid out before them and learn about all the amazing businesses and new developments that they could see really inspired them. These days are NOT about career education, they are planned around developing cultural capital which in turn develops a greater sense of agency, purpose and confidence. They clearly got the message that this area is just starting to really get going with new companies and new investment which will have a huge impact on their opportunities in the future. The children today showed brilliant commitment and enthusiasm to every task thrown at them, especially coding Dash robots to explore the map.
Brilliant children, brilliant staff, I expect nothing less though!
