What a fantastic pleasure to welcome the Y6 children from Bewley Primary today to another World of Work Day at AV Dawson funded by TVCA. As part of these days I often leave the main group of children while I do short tours outside on the balcony, picking out key developments and businesses that they can literally see in front of them. Whilst doing this, the children inside simply have to get on with the task of coding Dash, working through the company bios and producing a short presentation. Yes they have staff to support but today was a great example of how groups of eleven year olds can take on a pretty tricky challenge, work as a team and produce something that represents what they have learned. I’d suggest some of you get them on an apprenticeship right now if you want that sort of talent in your company!
