It was such a pleasure to welcome Year 5 from St Mary’s Cockerton to AV Dawson today for the latest in our series of World of Work at Your Feet events funded by TVCA. The children were so enthusiastic and their level of questioning about local businesses and what they could see around the port was fantastic. Also a big thank you to the staff who really got stuck into coding with Dash and also asking questions! The opportunities for our young people in the Tees Valley are growing with what often feels like daily announcements and ensuring that children know about what is around them is absolutely essential to developing their cultural capital. There is clear evidence that such an approach has a positive impact on children’s futures regardless of their background.
