It is unbelievable that we have reached the end of another year of the Animex Ambassador programme. This year we had to split the sessions due to demand so we ran twice as many events but it allowed us to keep that ‘close’ relationship to the children involved. We didn’t ever want it to feel like they were just faces in a crowd. Their confidence and skills have developed so much across the sessions and you can see from the images below that they have really enjoyed taking part.

The final sessions were led by Kyle, a lecturer and games designer, from Teesside University. He has also ben the key player in organising the rooms and the opportunities for the children who attended. His session focussed on games design and how flexible you must be when working in the industry. Being creative within parameters is one thing, but changing direction due to market demands when already set on a particular development path is both frustrating and an important life lesson. The children of course rose to the challenge brilliantly. What shone was their team work, their ability to focus on what was still viable and what needed to be tweaked or recreated. Brilliant.

Of course this wasn’t the final time I will see the Ambassadors, most are planning to attend the University on Animex Challenge Day on 19th June.

You know, the one your school will also be taking part in from your classroom!
